Ready For Some Football!

The professional football season starts today. Naturally, when Michael left his football on the floor Liam was instantly drawn to it and wanted to play!

Teething has felt a bit like boot camp training. I experienced almost a week of pre-dawn wake ups in the 5am hour, until discovered they were linked to when his pain reliever was wearing off. Different timing will usually get him to sleep (or at least resettle) until after 6. Tuesday was our peak rough day, as Liam decided to stay awake for 11 hours straight with only a mere 5 minute nap in the afternoon. He was so hyperactive that night, putting him to bed earlier to make up for that was futile and just left me feeling desperate and helpless. Nothing would settle him. An electric storm also inconveniently also struck at 8pm and lasted until around 9. It took 3 hours for him to finally sleep at 9pm, thankfully after we tried everything to help him he was happy just to be up in his crib and drifted off on his own with only a little babbling and a few long moans. I went to bed right after him, and was thankful our sleep wasn't too poor that night, all things considered. Sleep has been a little smoother since that time, but we might only be in the eye of the hurricane. Three top teeth are breaking through the gum, and as far as I can tell only one of the front incisors definitely came all the way through that day.

The other big thing Liam likes to do right now is climb stairs. He climbs whole flights of stairs now, and started climbing quickly! We definitely stand behind him and supervise him as he does this, but now have to be careful he doesn't even have access to the stairs or he'll be half way up when you turn your back (this happened to me yesterday when I thought Michael was watching him and gave me a big scare!!). He's standing on his own more and more, but still has yet to take any more steps. He can be as patient as he'd like, I'm in not hurry! I'm already chasing him enough.

Love the new header picture Lisa - too cute!!

Logan is in the middle of teething too. OH JOY! We have found the motrin/tylenol aren't doing much for him. BUT - we have great success with Hylands Teething Tablets. He went from waking up 3+ times a night with tylenol to 1 with the tablets. Give him those and that is it. It is a pain in the butt to get in (they have to go under the tounge, but once they are... that is it.) Leah has said the same thing with Danny and we know Danny has a TON of teeth at this point.

Good luck!
