Family, Friends, and Fun

We have been pretty busy the past two weekends, and during the week time always seems to fly when you're working full-time (except when you're at work). Last weekend we went up to see Michael's family and celebrate Liam's cousin Addy's third birthday party. We had a great time! Here are pictures and videos!

Liam talking on his phone, and dancing with his cousin!

I guess the little stinker wanted some music?

Liam looks quite nervous, and for good reason (don't worry, they were very closely supervised)!
Grandpa Time!
Uncle Matt giving guitar lessons
There was a bridal shower we went to, and tying a balloon on Liam's pants helped us keep track of him. He really wanted to do somersaults!
Going down stairs
And he's off!
He loved watching his cousins run around
See ya later!

Last weekend also brought along Daylight Savings Time, which honestly really wore Mommy out most of the week. I really like DST more, I just wish it lasted indefinitely. Liam didn't even know there was a time change though, because we have been trying to keep him on the "old time" because it has been nice he's doing every thing about an hour later than before. He's now waking up closer to 7am, so Mommy has rediscovered her alarm, the snooze button when needed, and can run and get a shower and get dressed before he wakes up! We also can eat dinner as a family when I get home around 6pm, and now he goes to bed around 8pm (so Mommy has little more time to play with him after work). His nap is also finally falling in the afternoon instead of late morning , which helps Sundays not throw him off so much. I hope it keeps up!!

So what new things has Liam been up to lately?

Liam has always been very intrigued by getting things apart. I liked to say he was doing "failure analysis," in that he was looking for any weaknesses in a product. If there is a way for something to come apart, he seems to find it. I cannot let him play with toys not intended for kids over 3 years old unless he's closely supervised! Recently, the things he has taken apart got more and more bizarre...
"Gordy" was restored and still runs just fine!

Liam also has been fascinated with silverware. Usually he's using his own, but sometimes he gets a hold of ours.
This can sometimes be quite messy!!
Cottage cheese is one of Liam's favorite foods, which is funny because it was one of the things Mommy ate all the time when she was pregnant with him!
Liam now knows the word "eyes" and likes to point out eyes all the time
Being silly! He likes to make us laugh!

A lot of people ask me how Liam and the cats get along together. I think this picture says a lot!
Liam taking his first shower, to rinse off after his bath. He played under the water for quite awhile.
Other than that, Liam is also obsessed with opening and closing doors. There are a few door knobs he is able to turn in our house, and he also enjoys pushing or pulling other doors shut and waiting for one of us to open it again. He was demonstrating his skills and trying to escape from the church nursery repeatedly this morning.

Yesterday Liam and Mommy had a great day out together. We started it off by meeting up with my running buddy and doing three miles on the bike trail. Liam got to see a lot of other joggers, all kinds of people on bikes, and three horses. Mommy also finally figured out how to properly adjust the jogging stroller (I think this was only my second run with it). I really learned why it is so important to lock the front wheel... when you don't, it wears you out really fast. The babe fell asleep in the car afterward, so Mommy drove around and explored some interesting neighborhoods, before eventually parking at a nice park and just relaxing for awhile. Afterward, Liam and I went out for lunch at Panera, then we went to the grocery store (we're still doing great on our budget by the way, there were some wonderful sales!). We stopped by home briefly, then met up with a group of my friends for dinner. As usual, Liam didn't eat that much in the restaurants so when we got home at 8pm I made a point to feed him even though it was bedtime. He ended up eating a whole, large avocado that was diced with some shredded cheese on top. He also ate a few Goldfish crackers with Daddy. It paid off because though I heard some happy babbling coming from his room at 6:40am, no one got out of bed and we all ended up getting to sleep in until 7:50am!! It was very nice.
